Ground Crew 101

This an unarmored, unmounted class that lasts an hour. The goal of this class is to teach those interested in serving in a support role for equestrian activitites in the SCA, the dos and don'ts of being around mounted gaming activities. This includes some training in the nature of horses and how that should be taken into consideration when one is on the 'Lists' resetting elements between runs. For those with more experince around horses and/or with weapon handling, the class will include instruction in the proper way to hand up and retrieve weapons from riders. At the end of the class, those who have successfully completed the basics ground crew requirements and have been sign off on by the instructor, will receive a Junior Ground Crew Authorization. Those who are also signed off on the weapon handling aspects will receive a Senior Ground Crew Authorization.
