Mounted Archery 101 & 201

Archery 101 is an unarmored, unmounted, lasting 1 hour. Archery 2001 is an unarmored, mounted class and should run about an hour and a half.

Archery 101 focuses exclusively on the unique use of the bow that is very specific to mounted archer. Here you will learn the pros and cons of different draw styles and get tips on nocking and shooting without looking at the bow.

Archery 201 takes the skills learned in the earlier class and puts them into practice in the saddle. Here you will get instruction in the peculiarities of riding sans reins, while nocking and firing. This is NOT, in any way, expected to be run at speed. This class is still about the basics of mounted archery and safety is our primary concern.

Instructor

Lady Rathyen de Bures of Acton (aka Sharon Chism)

Lady Rathyen is a formally trained mounted archer who takes part in mounted archery activities both within the SCA and with other groups whose members have been shooting in competition for years.
